May 5, 2025 – Canadian Tank Museum

Recently, my wife and I visited our old stomping grounds in Ontario, Canada.  While she went shopping, I paid a visit to the Canadian Tank Museum in Oshawa.  When we lived in Ontario, I would visit that place from time to time and enjoyed viewing their collection of a few dozen tanks.  They also hosted an event called Tank Saturdays, in which they would drive around some of their tanks and other military vehicles on a big field just outside the museum, this was watched by a crowd of a few hundred people.  A lot has changed since then, and for the better!  I was blown away by how many more tanks and armoured vehicles they acquired in the last several years.  Some of these vehicles are quite rare, such as the WWII German Jagdpanzer and Stug III.

I spoke with one of the museum volunteers, and he says their collection has grown to 143 vehicles and their weekend events now attract over 5000 people.  This is indeed a world-class armour museum, and I highly recommend you visit the Canadian Tank Museum.  I am looking forward to my next visit and hope to see one of their weekend events as well.
