Buck Moon

The first full moon in July is called a Buck Moon because it occurs around the time when young male deer grow their antlers. But it’s also graced with many other nicknames by different cultures including “Thunder Moon,” “Hay Moon,” “Mead Moon,” “Rose Moon,” ‘Elk Moon and ‘Summer Moon.”

These shots were taken on July 6, 2020 from our cottages on Tracadie Bay, PEI.  Handheld shots with a Panasonic G9 and Panasonic 100-400mm f/4-6.3 zoom lens.
