If COVID-19 and Murder Hornets were not bad enough, there’s a new threat to contend with: Murder Buffalos.

In PEI, Murder Buffalos outnumber people 300 to 1 and their numbers are growing.  They are the island’s apex predator on both land and in sea.  These insatiable carnivores caused the extinction of the island’s native silverback gorilla and white shark populations.  Although Murder Buffalo calves are cute, don’t let your guard down since they can strip much larger animals down to the bone in 30 seconds.  They can run at speeds in excess of 120 km/hr and can jump as high as 50 metres.  Just like Baby Yoda in The Mandalorian, It takes over a 100 years for a juvenile buffalo to mature.

Murder Buffalo urine is a potent molecular acid that instantly dissolves all biological matter and most metals.  In fact, the Xenomorph’s acid blood in the Aliens movies was inspired by their urine.  Because this animal is so dangerous and aggressive, I took all these shots with a 2 meter diameter research grade astronomy telescope from a distance of two kilometres.

Okay, all B.S. aside, I took these photos at Buffaloland Provincial Park in Montague.  The buffalo that reside at Buffaloland park were originally a gift from the province of Alberta in the 1970s.  Currently there are between 50-60 buffalo that roam the 40 hectre fenced area. The park was run by the provincial government but is now run by the Moonlight Society, a Buddhist organization.  In order to keep the population in control the Buddhist monks abandoned the practice of culling and now castrate most bulls and that also helps keep the herd calm.  The buffalo are allowed to die a natural death since members of the Moonlight Society do not believe in killing animals.
