June 26, 2021 – Malpeque Harbour

As I had free time last saturday, I rode my 2018 Harley-Davidson out to Malpeque Harbour which is situated on the north-west shore of Prince Edward Island.  It is close to Cabot Beach Provincial Park and Malpeque Bay is the second largest bay on the island.  Famous the world over for its oysters, which some consider to be the finest in the world, Malpeque Bay’s name is derived from the Mik`maq word meaning “big bay”.  I can personally attest that oysters from Malpeque Bay are among the best I’ve ever tasted. It is also notable for almost dividing the province; an isthmus occupied by the city of Summerside and the unincorporated communities of North St. Eleanors, Sherbrooke and Travellers Rest which separates Malpeque Bay from Bedeque Bay on the island’s south shore.

The day went from sunny to gray, so I decided to shoot mostly black and white to match the dull sky.  All shots taken with the Olympus Pen-F and most are jpegs straight out of the camera with only few minor adjustments for exposure.  The black and white mode on this camera is really good and produces a signature look.
